Construction robotics is moving beyond research and demonstration projects into real-world housing delivery. Horizon Legacy has gone through the hard knocks —delivering Canada’s first and largest neighborhood built using on-site robotics.

In this session, CEO Nhung Nguyen will take attendees inside the completed 26-unit Gananoque development and share what happens when robotics meets the realities of construction: permits, inspections, trades, weather, schedules, budgets, and ultimately, occupancy.

Drawing on lessons from taking the project from concept through completion, Nhung will unpack what worked, what didn’t, and where robotics created real value. She’ll explore the practical challenges of designing for robotics, navigating municipal approvals, integrating automation with conventional construction methods and trades, and building the capabilities needed to deploy the technology at scale.

The session will also look beyond Gananoque at how these lessons are shaping Horizon Legacy’s next generation of projects and technology.

This isn’t a theoretical conversation about what robots might be able to do someday. It’s a candid look at what construction robotics can deliver today—and what it takes to make it work in the real world. Nhung will share the hard-won lessons, unexpected challenges, and practical insights from delivering a robotics-enabled project from concept to occupancy, and what must change to move the industry from pioneering projects to a scalable new way of building.
