Submit a Roundtable proposal

CRC Roundtables bring Canadian robotics stakeholders together to advance knowledge, develop partnerships and build consensus or perspective on issues of a policy, technical, or business-focused nature.

  • Roundtables focused on rehashing old debates are discouraged. If proposing a familiar challenge, we strongly encourage you to invite new perspectives or re-framings.
  • We welcome proposals that build on prior years’ roundtable insights. See our website for a prior year topics and reports.
  • To attract participants to your session, all accepted proposals will be published on the event webpage and in the program.
  • Proposals will be reviewed as they are received, so you are encouraged to register and propose your topic early.
  • Roundtables typically feature one host, one note-taker, and 8 additional lead participants. You may invite specific individuals to actively contribute to your discussion. Note that all participants must register for the symposium. If you have invited participants to your roundtable, please ensure they are aware they must register. You must leave room for a note taker at your table if your roundtable is to be included in the Post Event Report.

  • Other symposium attendees will have the option to pull up a chair and gather around your table fishbowl-style, and either listen in or participate from the sidelines at your discretion.

  • Roundtables may run concurrently. Attendees may visit more than one roundtable discussion over the course of the session.

Contributing a Case Study, Roundtable or Exhibit to the Symposium? Sponsors get a visibility boost on social, in our event program, and in the post-symposium report.

You will be asked to include the following in your submission:

  • Roundtable Title

  • 250-word description including:

    • the purpose of the roundtable
    • intended audience
    • format (e.g. discussion, Q&A, short talks, etc),
    • key questions or topics you will address
    • hoped-for outcomes
    • how you will use your 90 minutes of program time (e.g. two separate 45-minute sessions? one longer session consisting of two parts?)
  • Names and emails of confirmed participants. If you have not yet confirmed any participants, indicate how you will attract participants to your roundtable, beyond what will be advertised via CRC channels.

Please note submission deadlines and important dates!

Roundtables selected for the program will be listed here on the event site roughly two weeks after the submission deadline.
